Thanks to its effectiveness and efficiency, Direct-Reduced Iron (DRI) is rapidly becoming a critical raw material for the steel industry. The DRI production process involves reducing iron oxide to metallic iron without the need for melting, making it an environmentally friendly option. This is achieved by reacting a reducing gas rich in carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrogen (H2) with iron oxide, which not only reduces the iron oxide but also transforms the reducing gas components into oxidized forms.

There are several methods for generating this essential reducing gas, including traditional steam reforming, Midrex® type low-pressure CO2 reforming, and coal-based gasification. A standout feature of the Midrex® process is its innovative approach of partially recycling spent gas from the shaft furnace back into the CO2 reformer, all while maintaining low operational pressure.

Inert for Midrex Reforming
RT-DR-24 is an inert support that is custom-made for the Midrex DRI process. It is also suitable for H2 production units that use natural gas and Coke Oven Gas (COG). Our unique ring shape for maximum pressure drop and high flow through the tube. Very high compressive strength between 30-50% higher than other catalysts.

Nickel-Based DRI-Reforming Catalyst

DRI process, medium activity catalyst
32 mm is a high void space multi hole cylinder with either domed end and or flat end shaped high active catalyst basis Ni on Calcium Aluminate low S/DG type carrier and it is intended  to be used in the medium active zone of DRI reformer tubes. DRS-15 is typically used in the low to mid-section of the DRI /MIDREX series reformer.

RT-DR-28-A 32 mm is a high void space multi hole cylinder with either domed end and or flat end shaped high active catalyst basis Ni on Calcium Aluminate low S/DG type carrier and it is intended to be used in the high active zone of DRI reformer tubes. RT-DR-28-A is a very high compressive strength between 30-50% higher than other catalysts.
